PM Review

I was willing to start Hitchcock with either Psycho [1960] or Birds [1963]. Nonetheless, like Godard’s Contempt [1963], I have begun with Hitchcock’s Spellbound [1945], again for the sake of Cannes Classics 2023.   Everyone says Hitchcock is a master of suspense. My first experience with Hitchcockian thrilling and suspense is quite disappointing as per my great expectation.   The method of therapeutic practices of mental sufferings and personality disorders through Freudian psychoanalysis are exercised in the movie with philosophical and aesthetic touches. But it disheartens me to keep the fair balance between cinematic narrative structures and literary worthiness.   Two things have just imprinted the finest impressions on my mind.   It's still a dream to  watch the list of movies in every category, participating in Cannes Film Festivals. Each movie screened in the festival dominate the year later on and the following year also. Therefore, it's more challenging to manage to complete the list of films untill next Cannes Festival. Thus, I have made my own private mechanisms to compensate this ufulfillment. Firstly, I have watched the one representative movie from the directors who are taking part in 2023. Secondly, I will watch all the movies which had been competed in 2022, as all of them are almost released and available to watch. Finally, I will watch the Cannes Classics 2023, the most alluring official selection from the Cannes archive. To watch classics is unavoidable for me after watching; I will say reading the movies of Chaplin & Eisenstein from silent era.
